Website Gets Visitors but No Enquiries? 11 Fixes for Indian Business Websites

If people visit your website but nobody calls, WhatsApps or fills the form, the problem is usually one of these eleven things. How to find which one, and how to fix it.

A website that gets visitors but no enquiries usually has one of three problems: the wrong visitors (people searching for something you don't sell), a page that doesn't make the next step obvious, or a contact method that is broken or hard to use on a phone. Check them in that order.

First, check the visitors

  1. Open Google Search Console and look at which searches bring clicks. If they are general information searches, those visitors were never going to buy.
  2. Check which pages they land on. Blog posts rarely bring enquiries; service pages do.
  3. Check the device. If most visitors are on phones, test everything on a phone first.

The 11 fixes

  1. Say what you do, where and for whom in the first line of every service page
  2. Put a tap-to-call and WhatsApp button on every page, visible without scrolling on mobile
  3. Cut the enquiry form to three fields: name, phone, what you need
  4. Send a test enquiry today. Broken forms are more common than you'd think.
  5. Show a price range or 'starting from' price so visitors know you're within budget
  6. Show real work, real names and your real address, not stock photos
  7. Show genuine Google reviews and your rating, linked to the source
  8. Give each service its own page so visitors land on exactly what they searched for
  9. Speed up the mobile site — compress images and remove heavy sliders
  10. Reply within an hour. Enquiries go cold quickly, and visitors often contact two or three companies at once.
  11. Track every enquiry by page, so you know which pages work and which to fix

How to know it worked

Count enquiries per 100 visitors to your service pages before and after the changes, over the same number of weeks. Judge it on that number, not on total traffic.

Our own site was missing step 11 until recently: our main form didn't ask what the visitor needed, so we couldn't tell website enquiries apart from others. We fixed it, and it's the first thing we check on client sites now.
