How Delhi NCR Businesses Get Recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews
When someone asks ChatGPT for 'the best website company in Noida' or 'a good dentist in South Delhi', which businesses get named? What we know about how AI tools pick businesses, and what you can change on your own website.
AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews name a business when they can find clear, consistent facts about it in several places they trust: its own website, its Google Business Profile, review sites, directories and articles that mention it. No one can guarantee a business will be named. What you can do is make those facts easy to find, easy to read and the same everywhere.
How AI tools choose which businesses to name
- They search the web (or use a search index) for pages that answer the question directly
- They prefer pages that state facts plainly: what you do, where, for whom, at what price
- They cross-check: a business mentioned on its own site, on Google Maps and on directories looks more reliable than one that only appears on its own site
- They lean on reviews and third-party lists for 'best' and 'top' questions
- They skip pages they cannot read — slow pages, content hidden behind scripts, or sites that block AI crawlers
Step 1: Let AI crawlers read your website
Check your robots.txt file. It should allow OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot (ChatGPT), Google-Extended (Gemini), PerplexityBot and ClaudeBot. Many sites block them by accident through a security plugin. Your important pages should also show their text in the page itself, not load it later through JavaScript only.
Step 2: Answer the exact question on your page
If buyers ask 'How much does a website cost in Noida?', one of your pages should answer it in the first two sentences, with a real price range. AI tools lift short, direct answers. Long introductions about your passion and vision get skipped.
Step 3: Make your business facts match everywhere
- Same business name, address and phone number on your website, Google Business Profile, JustDial, IndiaMART, LinkedIn and every directory
- One clear sentence describing what you do and where, used consistently
- Your service area listed honestly — say 'serving Gurgaon from our Noida office' rather than claiming an office you don't have
Step 4: Add structured data
Structured data is hidden code that labels your page for machines: this is a business, this is its address, these are its services, these are questions and answers. LocalBusiness, Organization, Service and FAQ markup help both Google and AI tools understand your page without guessing.
Step 5: Earn mentions outside your website
- Google reviews that mention the service and the area, such as 'website for our clinic in Dwarka'
- Listings on agency or industry directories relevant to your business
- Local news, association pages and partner websites that mention you by name
- Helpful answers on forums where your buyers ask questions
Step 6: Check what AI says about you today
Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your buyers ask: 'best [your service] in [your area]', '[your business name] reviews', '[your service] price in [city]'. Note who gets named and which pages are cited. Those cited pages show you what kind of content the tools trust for that question.
What not to do
- Don't publish fake reviews or ratings. Google penalises them, and AI tools increasingly cross-check them.
- Don't create dozens of near-identical city pages. Build one strong page per city that you can genuinely serve.
- Don't pay anyone who guarantees you will be 'ranked #1 on ChatGPT'. Nobody controls that.
How Preevee helps
We audit how ChatGPT, Gemini and Google describe your business today, fix your website so these tools can read and quote it, and build the outside mentions that support it. We build the websites too — 200+ launched since 2018 — so the fixes go into the site itself, not into a report you have to hand to someone else.
