What a Business Website Needs in 2026: 20-Point Checklist for Indian SMEs
The pages, features and settings every Indian small business website should have before launch — so it ranks on Google, can be read by AI tools and turns visitors into enquiries.
A business website in 2026 needs five things: a page for every service you sell, a clear way to contact you on every page, fast loading on a phone, the basic SEO settings Google needs, and plain answers to the questions your buyers ask. Use the checklist below before you launch or before you approve a quote.
Pages
- Home page that says what you do, where, and for whom in the first line
- One page for each main service (not one page listing everything)
- One page for each city or area you genuinely serve, if you serve more than one
- About page with real names, photos and your address
- Work or projects page with real examples
- Prices page, or at least a 'starting from' price on each service page
- Contact page with phone, WhatsApp, email, address and a map
- Privacy policy and terms
Enquiries
- A short enquiry form on every service page: name, phone, what you need
- Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons that work on mobile
- Enquiries delivered somewhere you check daily — WhatsApp, a sheet or a CRM, not an unread inbox
- A thank-you message that says when you will reply
Speed and mobile
- Main content visible within about 2.5 seconds on mobile data (Google's 'good' threshold for Largest Contentful Paint)
- Images compressed and sized for phones
- Text readable without zooming, buttons large enough to tap
Google and AI search
- A unique title and description on every page
- Google Search Console connected and a sitemap submitted
- Business structured data (LocalBusiness or Organization) with your real address
- An FAQ section on key pages answering real buyer questions in two or three sentences
- Google Business Profile linked to the website, with the same name, address and phone
Common mistakes we fix on Delhi NCR websites
- Phone number shown as an image, so it can't be tapped or read by Google
- All services crammed onto one page, so none of them rank
- Contact forms that silently fail and nobody notices for months
- Stock photos instead of the real team and office, which lowers trust
- No prices at all, so price-comparing visitors leave
What this costs
A template business website covering this checklist costs ₹15,000–₹40,000. A custom-designed one starts from ₹60,000. If you already have a site that misses most of these points, a redesign for a business website costs ₹50,000–₹1,20,000.
