What is the current PPF interest rate?

PPF interest rate is set quarterly by the Government of India. As of FY 2025–26 it is 7.1% per annum, compounded annually. The rate has historically ranged between 7.1% and 8.7%.

What is the maximum PPF investment limit?

You can invest a minimum of ₹500 and a maximum of ₹1,50,000 per financial year in PPF. Investment qualifies for 80C deduction under the Old Regime.

What is the PPF lock-in period?

PPF has a 15-year lock-in. After 15 years, you can extend it in blocks of 5 years indefinitely. Partial withdrawals are allowed from year 7.
